That is the checklist for one car that has been on the auto market since 1973 and seen so much change that when its 10th generation was launched last Wednesday at the Labadi Beach Hotel in Accra guest could not put a lid on their claps.
It is the 2016 Honda Civic. The Japanese automakers sent one of their prized assets into the auto theatre and returned with a completely redesigned car with an aggressive low and wide stance, a sportier look and sleek lines which set the 2016 Honda Civic apart from competition in its segment.
The 2016, Honda Civic is powered by a 2.0 Litre 158 Bhp horsepower engine and Continuously Variable Transmission which includes the Earth Dream technology.
The prowess of the Civic’s engine was a focus of Mr Jaideep Puthran, the Brands Manager of the Honda Place, distributors of Honda in Ghana.
“All new powertrain maximises acceleration and performance. Even though the engine is 2.0, its fuel economy is far superior to its competitors in the 1.3 litre range,” he said at launch witnessed by the Japanese Ambassador to Ghana, Mr Kaoru Yoshimura and customers of the company.
“The Honda Civic has always set the bar for fuel efficiency, driving performance and design innovation in the affordable compact-C-segment,” he said.
Interior
Inside the Civic will be an owners’ pride. The fit and finish has been kept simple but classy with a clout backed by soft touch materials. There are no cheap plastics on the dashboard.
The center technology console is multi-functional which includes two usb port and one high-definition multimedia interface (HDMI) port and space to keep your devices including tablets, phones and an exceptional wire management system to hold the cables intact. Rear seats can be folded down to help accommodate larger items.
Legroom has received additional inches making the car more spacious than its predecessor and it reflects in cargo space too.
The driver information Interface of the 2016 Honda Civic is deserves applause, in addition to displaying the vehicle speed and Tachometer, it also displays oil life, trip range and SMS messages.
The 7-inch touch screen Display Audio System, has a clean and sleek appearance, the audio system has apple car play and Android Auto connectivity and will display content from a compatible Smartphone.
Exterior
The 2016 Civic has received make up in every way, boasting the kind of seemingly contradictory specifications that mark a successful redesign. Examples include a chassis that is 68 pounds lighter yet offers a 25 percent improvement in torsional rigidity. Headlights, front grille, curvy and bold lines that turns eyes are also prominent features of the redesign.
Technolgy on fleek
The Honda also puts its best foot forward with technology. The all new Civic comes with Honda Lane watch system which is a unique feature in its segment. Once you signal right, the display audio system is engineered to show your blind spot on the screen.
Among other completion beaters are a standard push start button start and smart entry locking system. It also features standard remote engine start, at the push of the lock and start button, the engine starts and the air-condition comes on automatically to cool the car before you even enter.
The Civic also features the walk away auto lock, which automatically locks the vehicle once all passengers have disembarked and the driver and keys are few meters away from the vehicle.

Honda also put it automobile safety DNA in the 2016 Civic. The Civic comes with eight dual stage, multiple threshold front airbags system, side and rear curtain airbag system.
